About the Author

On leaving the army after twelve years at the age of thirty, James concluded he was unemployable, so started a mine clearance company. He figured that going from making things go bang in the army to stopping them going bang in civvy street was progress.

But that was a long time ago! Since, several successful business ventures bought him the time to do what he really enjoys, writing. Inspired by brilliant authors like Ian McEwan, William Boyd, Edward Docx and more recently, Chris Whitaker, he loves to create fast moving plots involving interesting characters.

James lives in Bideford, north Devon, has a daughter, a son and a large Giant Schnauzer who gets him out walking every day, whatever the weather.

Doing the Undone will be released in late summer 2026.
